Doing Business with the Lee County Port Authority

The Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport are operated by the Lee County Port Authority, under the supervision of a five-member Board of Port Commissioners and a Board-appointed Airports Special Management Committee. The Airport is a free-enterprise fund, totally supported by revenue generated from its operations. No ad valorem taxes (property taxes) are utilized in operations or expansion.

The Southwest Florida International Airport was built and was expanded with funds provided by the Federal Aviation Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation and self-supporting revenue bonds. The Airport not only makes a positive contribution to the area's economy through its services, but provides jobs for more than 1,800 area residents and generates significant revenue for the local economy as well as to the State of Florida.

The Lee County Port Authority's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, provides DBEs with the maximum opportunity to  participate in the performance of contracts and subcontracts financed in whole or in part with or without federal funds pursuant to the FAA's 49 CFR Part 26.

The primary objective of the Lee County Port Authority Purchasing Office is to acquire quality supplies and services at the lowest cost. The Port Authority is constantly  seeking new sources of supplies and services and welcomes your participation.

The majority of Southwest Florida International Airport purchases are made through a comprehensive system of specifications and competitive bidding. This process ensures that contracts for supplies or services will be awarded to the lowest, most responsive, responsible bidder who complies with the specifications, terms and conditions, and has the capacity to deliver the service or product to the Lee County Port Authority.  Information and listing of  Current & Upcoming Projects can be found on the Lee County Port Authority web site.
